Every shipment includes additional pigment. Sealed, already diluted, in the box — so if the wall dries lighter than you wanted, you can darken the mix yourself, on site, while you are still working. Limewash always dries lighter than it looks wet, and most of all on a big wall with a lot of natural light. No other limewash company ships you the means to fix that.

Why does limewash dry lighter than the swatch?
Lime is a mineral that absorbs light rather than a plastic film reflecting it at a fixed value. Wet limewash is saturated and dark; as it cures it lightens considerably. The effect is strongest on large walls with a lot of natural light — exactly where people are most likely to be surprised by it. It is how lime behaves, not a fault.
What if my wall dries lighter than I wanted?
You darken it on the spot. Every shipment includes a sealed can of additional pigment, already diluted. Add it to your remaining mix, brush a test, let it flash off and keep going. No other limewash company ships you the means to adjust mid-job.
How do I know the colour is right before I start?
Every order ships with the physical swatch we matched against, taped to the lid, with a brush-out of your actual tinted limewash across half of it. You are holding the match we made, in the material we sent you, rather than judging it on a screen.
Colour perception will vary depending on lighting, number of coats and technique.
