Paint sits on a wall. Limewash becomes one.
Conventional paint forms a plastic film across a surface. It traps moisture behind it, and when that moisture finally moves, the film blisters and peels. Limewash does the opposite — it penetrates into the substrate and cures by reabsorbing carbon dioxide from the air, converting back into calcium carbonate. Limestone, essentially. The wall and the finish become the same material.
That's why limewashed masonry breathes, why it can't peel, and why it develops a soft patina over years instead of degrading. It is also why it looks the way it does: the depth and cloudy movement come from real mineral crystals catching light at slightly different angles, not from a printed or rolled-on effect.
Zero VOC — genuinely, not nominally
High-calcium lime, water, mineral pigment. Nothing else. There are no synthetic binders or solvents in our limewash, so there is nothing to off-gas into the room after we leave — which matters most in bedrooms, nurseries and anywhere a family spends its nights. This is the basis of our Zero VOC Home Program.
Lime is also naturally alkaline, which makes limewashed surfaces inhospitable to mold and mildew without any added biocide.

Every color is developed for the individual project using raw earth pigments, approved on a hand-applied sample before work begins, and then permanently locked to the client it was created for. We don't reuse or duplicate a color.
