Pre-war and mid-century estates, many built 1910–1940. Original plaster substrates behind later paint, lath-and-plaster walls, and a real likelihood of lead paint under the top coats on anything pre-1978.
These houses were built breathable and then sealed shut by eighty years of repainting. Lime is what was originally on many of these walls — putting it back is closer to restoration than renovation. It also means substrate evaluation matters more here than anywhere else in the metroplex: we are working over historic plaster, not new drywall.
